In August 1973, the press reveals that several concerts of the forthcoming european tour will be recorded for a live album to be released before Christmas and could also include studio recordings.
Actually, it was just a project that through the months changed and vanished in the air. Because of the famous contractual dispute between the Stones and ABKCO/Klein, and the rights to some songs of the set list, this album, like the 1972 Live album or the projected Hit-singles-Live album from 1974/75, was never materialized.
The Stones recorded 16 to 24 tracks for archive and possible use in this live album, like they already did before in 1969 till 1972 and did it with every tour in the last decades.
But, fortunately the "King Biscuit Flower Hour", an american syndicated radio show recorded a selection from their show in Brussels, Belgium and Empire Pool, Wembley, London. The "King Biscuit Flower Hour" was broadcast on Sunday nights and during its prime, was re-broadcast by more than 300 radio stations throughout the US.
They usually recorded the concerts with a mobile recording truck, then mixed and edited for broadcast in a few weeks. Then the show was sent to radio stations elsewhere on reel-to-reel tape and later LPs also.
Since 2006, The King Biscuit tape archives were acquired by Wolfgang´s Vault which has made this radio broadcast available for download (they did a excellent summary text!).
